In this workshop, students will create their own tiny worlds through the magic of miniatures.  Students will design their own miniature games perfect for road trips or long plane rides, design their own miniature room layout, and make adorable, miniature houseplants for their desks or rooms.  Join us for a small and mighty mini-adventure!

In this workshop, students will play more in-depth team games that promote leadership and communication skills.  We are venturing into Frisbee Golf and learning how to throw different types of frisbees, Philadelphia Kickball and a few other mystery games.  Come join Alex for this fast moving and energetic workshop!

Environmental Explorers is a workshop that connects students to nature right in “our own backyard”. Each week, students will dig into a new topics while building science practices and naturalist skills. When possible, lessons will bring students outside and use whatever environment is readily available. There will also be opportunities to meet some of Mass Audubon’s native wildlife ambassadors (live animals). Come explore and learn more about the natural world. This workshop is open to new and returning students.

Mechanical theaters are a little-known part of the history of theater and animation.   In this workshop, students will explore and learn about examples of mechanical theaters. They will then use simple engineering techniques and their own creativity to design a crank-operated puppet show and bring it to life using basic materials and supplies.  The only limit is their imagination!

Kindergarteners with join art teacher, Mrs. Williams for a fun and creative adventure in all things art! Students will explore different mediums, techniques and styles all while mastering new skills in art. This is open to new and returning students.

Get ready 3rd graders – it’s robotics time!  This workshop will provide an introduction to block based coding that will be used to control GoPiGo robots (no previous coding experience necessary!) Students will work collaboratively in small groups to customize, code and guide their robots through different challenges.  In addition, students will have time to experiment on their robots to program them to perform motions and tasks of their choosing.

Scary monsters.  Scheming witches. Silly disekicks. In this workshop students will take turns playing all of the parts as they act out a classic tale.  This year, the play is an adaptation of the Indonesian Cinderella story “Bawang Merah, Bawang Putih”, or “Garlic Girls and Little Miss Onion”.  We will read out loud together, play theater games, make our own props and costumes and have fun putting together a low-key performance.

In this workshop, students will learn about clothing detailing.  They will receive oversized t-shirts, and take them from drab to fab!  Students will learn simple mending and hemming, dye methods and the step by step process of screen printing!  If you have a kiddo who has a passion for fashion, this workshop is for them!

Everyone loves a good story! Students will meet with Vana as she reads an engaging new or classic picture book. After enjoying and discussing the story, the students will work on a connected craft or project.  Students will imagine, create, and leave with their own masterpiece inspired by the tale.
