Workshops

BASEC Workshops are enrichment classes that promote deep exploration into topics of interest for BASEC students. When space is available, BASEC Workshops are opened to the greater Green Meadow community. Children who don’t usually attend after school are encouraged to take BASEC Workshops.

BASEC @ Green Meadow Spring Workshop Session — Registration Open Tuesday 2/13!

Please review this catalog of classes to learn more about the enriching workshops being offered at BASEC @ Green Meadow.

Workshops begin the week of 3/18 and continue for 6 weeks. 

All workshops will run from 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM at Green Meadow School. Students who are not signed up for BASEC @ Green Meadow after school can stay for their Workshop from school dismissal and should be picked up each day by 4:45 PM. After School students transition to and from Workshops directly from BASEC.

Per our licensing regulations, all students participating in BASEC Workshops must register (and complete our enrollment form) for BASEC. If your child currently attends before or after school, you don’t need to register at BASEC–you are already fully enrolled! Just register for the Workshops you would like below. If your child is not currently registered for BASEC for the 2023 – 2024 school year, you may register for the Workshops below and then we will email you our enrollment form that will need to be completed and returned before Wednesday, 3/13/24.

We are excited to announce that tuition for all Workshops will be free to students enrolled in BASEC after school on the day of their workshop.

Tuition

  • Student enrolled in BASEC on workshop day — FREE!* 
  • Student enrolled in BASEC but does not attend on workshop day — $60.00 per Workshop
  • Student not enrolled in BASEC — $60.00 + $50.00 ($50 is a one time registration fee).

All students will be limited a maximum of two workshops.

*Our online registration e-commerce tool will not allow us to discount workshop tuition down to $0. As a result, families registering for a workshop on a day their child attends after school will be asked to submit a payment of $1. This will be applied to your next invoice.

Monday Workshops

LEGO City Builders (Gr 1-3)

Join us as we dive beneath the surface and discover the secrets of urban planning using Legos, K’nex, and other building blocks. In City Builders, your child will embark on an exciting journey to understand how cities are constructed from the ground up.

The Story of Me (Gr 1-3)

This workshop is all about self-expression and embracing individuality. Through the art of collage assemblage sculpture, you’ll have the opportunity to explore your personal experiences, interests, and dreams.

Kindness Club (Gr 1-3)

BASEC is bringing back one of our favorite workshops from last year, Kindness Club! Kindness club will teach your student how to promote acts of kindness and community service to everyone that loves Green Meadow as much as we do!

Wednesday Workshops

What Do You See: Above & Below

meets: 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/24, 5/1 (No workshop 4/17, school break) time: 3:45-4:45

Look close and dive in! Students will imagine they are the size of a frog or toad exploring ponds and gardens to create three-dimensional sculptures illustrating what you will find up above, in between, and down below each ecosystem.  Inspiration will come from the beautiful and unique creatures, features, and details of these natural homes. Throughout the 6 weeks together, we will explore a variety of art mediums including clay, oil pastels, and watercolors!

Gaga Ball Club (Gr 1-3)

Join our Gaga Ball Club for epic fun! Jump, dodge, and laugh with friends as we play this awesome game together. It’s all about action and giggles – come join the excitement!
