Learn Great Magic! – Grades 2-3
Watch amazing magic up close and then learn how to do it! Ken is an award-winning magician who loves to teach students magic! Tricks that students will learn include: how to make rubber bands jump around on your fingers, have paperclips leap into the air and link together, push a coin through a table, change the color of handkerchiefs, plus all sorts of fun with cards, dice, and more. Creating on Canvas – Grades 2-3
Begin your home gallery collection with a beautiful painting. Students will choose a focus for their art and build experience creating each layer of a successful composition: from background, to decorative embellishment, and finally to rendering their subject in different styles and mediums. Each creation is sure to be a masterpiece!
Grades: 2-3

Student enrolled in BASEC on Tuesdays – $40
Student enrolled in BASEC but does not attend on Tuesdays – $180
Students not enrolled in BASEC – $180 + $95 (this is a one time fee for the school year) = $275
Environmental Explorers – Grades 1-2
Environmental Explorers is a workshop that connects students to nature right in “our own backyard”. Each week, students will dig into a new topics while building science practices and naturalist skills. When possible, lessons will bring students outside and use whatever environment is readily available. There will also be opportunities to meet some of Mass Audubon’s native wildlife ambassadors (live animals). Come explore and learn more about the natural world. This workshop is open to new and returning students.

Tools and Toys – Grades 1-2
This workshop will introduce and extend students’ knowledge of fundamental tools that they’ll use throughout their life. Using tools like handheld screwdrivers, sewing needles, and rulers, students will create personal marble runs, stuffed animals, action figures, and more! Students will not only get to take home their handmade toys, but also their new knowledge of tolls and how different toys are put together. The best way to learn is through play, so why not learn how to use different tools while making things to play with?
