Origami Fables: Crafting Aesop’s Wisdom – Grade 1

Step into a world where storytelling meets creativity in the most unexpected way! Each week, the class will listen to a different Aesop’s fable. After discussing the story, students will learn how to create a related shape through the art of origami. As we fold colorful paper into shapes inspired by animals, nature, and fabled characters, we’ll explore the ancient stories of wisdom, wit, and moral lessons. Creative Cooking – Grades 2-3

This fun and delicious workshop introduces students to basic kitchen skills, techniques, equipment and recipes while creating and enjoying delicious food. Students love learning to cook! This workshop is open to new and returning students.

NOTE: This class will run from 3:15 – 4:15 regardless of the Wednesday dismissal time.

Story Theater – Grades 2 – 3

Over ten weeks, students will work together to learn and perform a short play based on the book The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. The story is a classic tale about the importance of conserving and protecting nature and the interconnectedness of all life. Together we will make masks, costumes and set pieces. Students who are shy about performing can focus on the technical theater side, while students who are eager to perform will get a chance to have a speaking role.
