Junior Model United Nations (Gr 5)

In Junior Model United Nations (MUN), students role-play as delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees to collaboratively solve real-world problems. During this 5th-grade specific course of MUN, BASEC students will develop their skills in public speaking and debate, as well as those of teamwork and collaboration.

This 5th-grade-only course will focus on developing students’ understanding of the Model UN “Parliamentary Procedures” and develop skills in effectively writing resolutions to crisis situations. They will also work in partnerships to prepare for a local, multi-school conference, the Commonwealth Model United Nations held on Saturday, April 11th at the Commonwealth School in Boston’s Back Bay.

Tuition:

– If your child is enrolled in BASEC @ Chenery on Fridays: $74.00 ($29 Workshop tuition + $45 conference fee)
– If your child is enrolled in BASEC @ Chenery, but does not attend on Fridays: $295.00 (10 additional BASEC days + $45 conference fee)
– If your child is not enrolled in BASEC @ Chenery for the 2025-2026 school year: $390.00 ($95 BASEC Registration fee + $250 additional BASEC days + $45 conference fee)
