Introducing a new initiative supporting neighboring families
Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, BASEC will welcome Sudbury residents to enroll their children into the BASEC @ Green Meadow and BASEC @ Fowler programs. Please read below details about the program, how to register, tuition, and more!
About the Program
This new pilot program was developed in response to a growing community need for after school care in Sudbury. BASEC was founded on the principle that a quality out-of-school time experience is essential for positive youth development. Ultimately, more children in any individual program allows BASEC to invest more into its enrichment programming. It also creates more opportunities for students to develop meaningful peer connections. We are excited at this opportunity to help families in need and provide and enriching experience for more children!
In order to guarantee that we are meeting the needs of the Maynard community, a cap will be placed on the number of students participating at each site. Students above these caps will be placed on a waitlist.
BASEC @ Green Meadow (Gr 1-3): 10 students
BASEC @ Fowler (Gr 4-8): 10 students
PLEASE NOTE: BASEC operates based on the Maynard Public School Calendar. Early Release days occur on Friday’s throughout the year. Programming will be offered on Sudbury Early Release Wednesdays, however, not until Maynard dismissal times.

*Due to capacity limitations of our dedicated K-classroom we cannot accept kindergarten students at this time.
How BASEC works
- Runs Monday to Friday, from dismissal until 6:00 PM
- Programming includes snacks, homework support, games, visual arts, sports, and more!
- Held every day in the school cafeteria, library, gym, and playground
- Day camp available during February and April vacation week
- Professional after school teachers, including school teachers and staff
- Consistent schedule that meets students’ physical, emotional, social and academic needs.

Transportation
Transportation to the BASEC programs in Maynard will be provided from Israel Loring Elementary School for an additional cost. At this time, BASEC is only able to provide transportation from one school. We have selected Loring as it is the furthest away and therefore more difficult for families to travel to our Maynard locations.
Transportation will only be provided on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday due to the conflicting early release schedules of Maynard and Sudbury school districts. Families must register for all 3 days (M,T,Th) in order to receive transportation services. The option to add Wednesday and/or Friday is available; however, families must provide their own transportation to Maynard*.
A minimum of 12 students must register for this service to be provided.
*Families that would like to provide their own transportation on any day must coordinate an arrival plan with the Site Director – Michael Clark Michael.Clark@maynardbasec.org
Tuition
Tuition is dependent on grade level and if you require transportation from the Loring School. Tuition is billed bi-monthly. The two month total is due in full by 10/1, 12/1, 2/1, 4/1, and 6/1. A $300 deposit is due upon registration and will be applied to your final tuition payment.

How to Register
Register for BASEC Sudbury families may register for the program using our registration page. Please select the site that corresponds with your students grade for the 2024-2025 school year. A $300 tuition deposit is due upon registration.
Green Meadow = Grades 1st – 3rd
Fowler = Grades 4th-8th

BASEC brings together after school programs to develop creative, resilient, resourceful and responsible youth. With a well-developed curriculum, BASEC imparts important 21st century skills including communication, creative problem solving, mindfulness, collaboration and teamwork. After school staff build long-term, year-to-year knowledge of each child, offering an opportunity for each child to grow and shine.
