BASEC is excited to offer a new volunteering-based workshop for 8th graders at BMS. Participants will have the unique opportunity to volunteer at BASEC @ Chenery, assisting in curriculum groups such as Sports, STEM, and Art.

Student volunteers will build connections with younger children while taking on real responsibilities, including engaging with students, helping teachers gather supplies, joining in projects and gym games, and assisting with cleanup. Responsibilities may vary by day and curriculum group, and we’ll take each student’s preferences and strengths into consideration when making placements.

This year at BASEC @ BMS, we’re proud to launch Tech Tuesdays: weekly workshop classes with a curriculum focused on building skills in technology and engineering.

Our fall Tech Tuesday workshop is 3D Design & Printing, where students learn how to design, create, and print physical 3D objects. This workshop is geared towards students of any digital design & 3D printing experience level. Novice students will explore TinkerCAD, a beginner-friendly Computer Aided-Design (CAD) software, and Intermediate students will learn OnShape – a professional-grade CAD platform. Together, we’ll explore how to become better designers and builders!
