Scratch is a programming language designed to promote, as Mitch Resnik describes, technological fluency. In BASEC’s Scratch class, students learn to experiment and explore through the creation of virtual stories, interactive slideshows, custom video games, and other original and inspired creations. By collaborating with peers and researching and remixing projects from the Scratch community, students develop a problem-solving mindset of building, evaluating, and re-creating.
