BASEC is committed to respecting the privacy of its online visitors. This statement discloses the site’s privacy practices involving information we collect, how we use it, and how we share it.

Information Collection

The Organization collects two types of information: 1) Personal, voluntary registration information, such as name, address and email address, and personal voluntary employment information such as name, title, organization, address and email; 2) Non-personal statistical information, such as site traffic and usage patterns.

1) Personal information submitted voluntarily is used to fulfill donations, registrations and deliver requested information. This information is stored on secured servers and kept as long as the user is subscribed to receive such information. This information is used solely by BASEC and others involved in the operation of this website and will never be sold, rented or shared with others for their business purposes, or given to third parties except to fulfill requests.

2) Non-personal statistical information, collected in real-time, is to measure site activity, your activity as a grassroots advocate, and improve the structure of our website. We may also use this information to educate ourselves about the interests and concerns of our visitors.

Temporary session cookies are used to collect information and maintain things like the items in your shopping cart. These cookies are destroyed when you close your browser and do not track any personally identifiable information about the user. The cookies are not used for any purpose but to maintain a session.


Security

The Organization makes all attempts to collect and store data in a manner to protect its confidentiality, recognizing that no transmission of data is entirely secure. Although we attempt to keep information in a secure environment to safeguard the confidentiality of users’ personal information, we cannot guarantee complete security.


Privacy Protection for Children

In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, we do not knowingly permit persons under the age of 13 to provide personal information through the Organization’s website or online educational program. If such provision is detected, the Organization will take appropriate steps to remove this information from our databases.

BASEC online services are not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under the age of 13, and we do not and will not knowingly contact or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. The only personal information that we receive about children under the age of 13 is information provided by the parent or legal guardian or information provided by the child incidental to that child’s participation in a course or courses as part of that child’s online educational program.

BASEC does not collect personally identifiable information relating to children under the age of 13 except as noted above. Children under the age of 13 may not provide personally identifiable information without prior parental consent, which will enable the parent to prevent the use of the information and participation in the activity. Children under the age of 13 may not distribute personally identifiable information without prior parental consent.

BASEC uses personal information to provide educational services to children enrolled in BASEC online programming.

It is possible that by fraud or deception by others we may receive information pertaining to children under the age of 13. If we are notified of the receipt of information under such circumstances, once verified, we will promptly obtain parental or guardian consent, and in the absence of such consent, will delete the information. If you wish to notify us that we have inadvertently received information relating to a child under the age of 13, please do so by emailing us at Andrew.Mountford@belmontbasec.org 

You can request, edit, or prohibit personally identifiable information of a child under the age of 13 from being used by BASEC, its affiliates, schools, and vendors acting on behalf of BASEC by making a request in writing to Andrew.Mountford@belmontbasec.org. Please note that if you make a request to prohibit personally identifiable information from being used by BASEC, its affiliates, schools, and vendors acting on behalf of BASEC, it will not be possible for your child to participate in a BASEC online educational program.

Unsubscribing or Changing Information

The Organization makes every effort to ensure that only visitors who request mail or email will receive mail or email. If you would like to remove your name from the electronic newsletter or other mailing list, simply contact webmaster@belmontbasec.org.


Consent

When visitors use the Organization’s website, they are using a service provided by BASEC and agree to be bound by our Privacy statement as it is modified from time to time and posted on this site. Other sites, including those the Organization links to, may have their own policies which the Organization is not responsible for, and are not addressed or controlled by this Privacy Statement. BASEC shall not be liable under any circumstances for damages resulting from use of information collected from visitors to our site.
