The first grade curriculum is designed and led by some of BASEC’s favorite Kindergarten teachers! Students entering first grade in the fall will collectively make up a single classroom, with a daily curriculum that includes art, stories, games, and nature exploration. First graders stay with their group throughout the day, with camp curriculum in the morning, and free swim, playground, and activities in the afternoon.

For 2021, we will again be dedicating BASEC life guards specifically to the 1st grade group. These grade 1 life guards will help our young participants get comfortable with the water, utilizing intentionally-designed pool games and activities.
