Robotics 2 w/ Ola (Grades 3-5)
In this intermediate robotics workshop, students can program robots remotely!
Returning students will continue exploring the three major functions of a robot — sensing (input), thinking (computation), and acting (output) — through a series of missions in the GoPiGo robotics platform.
Students can code from the comfort of their own homes, upload code to the instructor, and watch their code executed over Zoom. We’ll work collaboratively to improve robot performance. Students only need an internet-enabled device and an email account.
New missions include:
Scoring points in a carnival-like balloon popping game
Preparing a “rover” to explore the surface of Mars
NOTE: While this is an intermediate level workshop, students with prior Scratch or Bloxter experience who did not participate in the Fall session will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please email email@example.com for details.
The GoPiGo is an educational robotics platform developed for the Raspberry Pi, a single-board computer that fits in the palm of your hand. The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based charity that works to put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of people all over the world.
