Intermediate Scratch: Coding a Platformer w/ Pete and Trevor (Grades 2+)
Some of the most popular and beloved video games are platformers – games like Super Mario Bros, Sonic, and Donkey Kong have captured the attention of gamers for countless hours. In this workshop, students will discover the physics behind this popular game format while expanding their coding skills with functions, variables, and complex conditionals. At the end of this session, they’ll have a complete, playable platformer to share with family and friends!
NOTE: This workshop is intended for students who already have some experience with the Scratch language and interface.
To participate in class, students will need to make a free account on the coding website Scratch (scratch.mit.edu). We strongly encourage students to set up an account before the first day of class.
This class is designed for students in grades 2 and up.
PLEASE NOTE! If your child is enrolled in 20-21 After School, virtual workshops are free!
