Intermediate Scratch: Coding a Space Adventure w/ Pete and Trevor (Grades 2+)
When arcade games were at their peak, outer-space adventures like Asteroids, Space Invaders, and Galaga were incredibly popular. Titles like these still inspire game creators to this day. In this workshop, students will build a space adventure game in Scratch that takes inspiration from these legendary games. They’ll code movement, projectiles, collisions, and much more while learning new coding concepts with the MIT-developed Scratch platform.
To participate in class, students will need to make a free account on the coding website Scratch (scratch.mit.edu). We strongly encourage students to set up an account before the first day of class.
NOTE: This workshop is intended for students who already have some experience with the Scratch language and interface.
This class is designed for students in grades 2 and up.
